Elections Hurt, But Public Still Doesn't Blame Obama
Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he sees the president's week ending.
John Zogby on Week 42:
"In terms of expectations, Obama's week could have been perceived as much worse. Democrats lost both governors' races, but little, if any, blame was placed on Obama. Exit polls found voters in both New Jersey and Virginia saying that Obama was not a factor in their choices, and the mainstream media and even some Republican politicians agreed the outcomes were not a referendum on the president. Two other elections, the pickup of a Democratic seat in New York's heated 23rd District election and retention of another in California, brought Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Obama a little closer to passing a healthcare bill in the House. The rural New York congressional race may have pushed the Republican Party even further to the right, which is just fine with the Obama team."

New and improved government of the USA
I think we need a dictatorship type government. I absolutely feel that we need to abolish both parties, and turn over government to all the illegal "aliens", and then we will see great prosperity return to our country. All current House members, and Senators will be forced to work for lawn service companies. I see a new and bright day for the US. Ohh, and Al Gore shall reign as court jester for the new and supreme ruler....Hugo Chavez. Need I add that Sean Penn will run the new department of Interior with ex-wife...Madonna. What a wonderful new and exciting day for the USA.

Steve ,you paint with really broad strokes when you assail "tea-baggers .Lumps of coal to any and all who spend or spent what we don't have in the kitty.If Republicans learn anything it will be to remain true to Conservative ideals,namely smaller government,lower the taxes for every American & strong defense,encourage innovation, the "mom and pop"business-they are the engines of capitalism.
